Our company routs and caulks cracks in a building’s exterior concrete. Sealing any cracks is important, because if they are not addressed, the water could penetrate the crack and possibly leak into the living or work space of the building.
REPAIR BEFORE IT BECOMES A BIGGER PROBLEM
QUALITY CONSTRUCTION
It is important to repair these cracks. If not, water will rust the rebar making the exterior an eyesore, but more importantly, could leak into the building. We repair these cracks by cutting(routing) open the crack a ¼ inch deep by a ¼ inch wide with an angle grinder. We then caulk the open cracks with a flexible urethane caulking followed by paint if applicable.
On-grade slabs are prone to cracking as well. The same procedure of routing and caulking is performed except on a horizontal slab instead of an exterior walls. This to helps protect the rebar, and the overall structure.
